Atlantis Homes was started by William Herrick in 1985 while attending graduate school at the University of Houston. The first homes were completed in 1985 and 86 in Taylorcrest in the city of El Lago, approx. 3 miles east of Nasa. Homebuilding became a full time effort after William graduated with a MBA from University of Houston in 1987. From 1987 on, Atlantis has averaged 9 homes per year, expanding to areas inside loop 610 and to suburban areas like Magnolia and Hockley.
